Square Pizza occupies the ex-premises of Zeit ou Zaater, which has relocated to Ramallah a few years ago. Square Pizza is located in the same building that houses Goodies, the popular hamburger eatery, in the Beit Hanina neighbourhood of Jerusalem, just behind the popular shopping strip where Ja’far Supermarket and Ja’far Sweets are located, among other businesses.

As the name implies, the pizza is square, or oblong if one orders the large size • not the familiar round pizza one is used to. The crust is generally thick • unless one orders the extra thin round pizza or the thin square pizza. There are eleven combinations of pizza to choose from, ranging from the simple tomato and mozzarella to the more elaborate ones that include chicken or ground meat. Many additional toppings are available, to make the pizza of one’s choice, such as various vegetables, different types of meats or fish and a selection of cheeses.

The restaurant has several tables indoors and a few tables on an outside terrace where one can sit down to eat. The restaurant will also deliver, using the delivery service of Goodies.

Sharing the same premises with Square Pizza is Dajajouna, the part of the Goodies enterprise that specialises in home-made Palestinian dishes such as mansaf, stuffed vegetables and vine leaves, musakhan, and charcoal-grilled chicken. These, too, can be delivered.

The restaurant has a toll-free number to call for orders, which is a nice gesture on its part • and an excellent marketing move.
